About Northern Therapy
My name is Katie Bly and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Virginia, Maryland, and Michigan. I see clients in my office in Alexandria, VA as well as virtually.

I currently work with teens and adults. My niche is supporting those coping with anxiety, depression, and trauma. I am especially passionate about how these symptoms intersect with chronic illness, codependency, parenting, and other life changes.
I have experience in child welfare, school social work, outpatient social work in military settings, as well as working as a play therapist with young children.

My extensive training in play therapy and early childhood development is something I love to share with others. I am passionate about teaching parents how they can incorporate the skills play therapists use into their own parenting!
I have training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) which is an evidence-based treatment for OCD as well as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) which is an evidence-based treatment for trauma.

I’m not here to be small, to compare, to judge (myself or you), to fit in or to be perfect. I’m here to grow, to learn, to love, to be human.
